A fierce pass rusher on the defensive line, Mike Einspahr (Lincoln, Neb.) was a premier football player for the Plainsmen.  He finished his career holding the school record for season and career quarterback sacks.

Selected as the 1994 Lincoln Journal Star State Defensive Player of the Year, Einspahr was named 1st-Team NAIA All-American at defensive tackle in his senior season.  He finished the year with a school record 13 quarterback sacks to lead the NIAC Conference.

After transferring from Wayne State College, Einspahr would earn All-Conference recognition in each of his three seasons.  He was 2nd-Team All-NIAC in 1992 and 1993, then earned 1st-Team All-Conference as a senior in 1994.

Einspahr, a graduate of Lincoln Northeast H.S., set the career record quarterback sack mark with 23 for his career.  He still ranks second on the NWU all-time chart for quarterback sacks.  In just three years, he racked up 145 total tackles and 27.5 tackle-for-loss from his defensive tackle position.
