Gerald Seitz (Omaha, Neb.), was a record-breaking wide receiver for the Nebraska Wesleyan football team playing from 1974-77. He set two school records during his playing days as a flanker as he earned three varsity letters.
Â
Seitz had his most productive season as a junior in 1976 when he set two pass catching records. He caught 50 passes for 677 yards to set the single season mark for receptions. The mark stood as the school record for seven seasons and still ranks sixth all-time in NWU history. He also had 10 catches against Midland to set the school record for receptions in a game.
Â
The Omaha Roncalli H.S., ended his career with 89 pass receptions for 1,064 yards. His 89 career receptions and 1,064 career yards both ranked second all-time when he graduated. Seitz still ranks 10th all-time in NWU football history in career receptions.  Â
Â
Seitz was selected All-NIAC at wide receiver in 1976 and was named to the All-State College Team by both the Journal Star and World Herald. He was also a four-year letterwinner in baseball helping the Plainsmen to three NIAC Championships. Â
