2006 Men's Golf

The first-ever team national championship in Nebraska Wesleyan history was won by the 2006 men's golf team on May 11 at Firethorn Golf Course in Lincoln. NWU won the title with a 10-stroke advantage and had all five golfers finish in the top-20. 

After posting an opening round 309, the Prairie Wolves responded with a 289 the next day to close the gap on defending national champion and leader, Guilford.  NWU took a four-shot lead heading into the final round after firing a 292 and conquered strong winds on the tournament’s final day to shoot 303, en route to the national championship. 

Aaron Stockton and Jon Deines paved the way as they both tied for fifth at the national championships, while Travis Davis, Jeff Holm and Travis Lawson all tied for 16th.

2018 National Champions

2018 Men's Basketball 

NWU claimed the program's first ever national championship with a 78-72 victory over Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the NCAA III Men's Basketball National Championship game on Saturday, March 17, at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia. 

The Prairie Wolves entered the NCAA Championship unranked after winning the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title and tournament titles. Nebraska Wesleyan won 13-straight games to win the national title including beating four teams ranked in the top 10 in its final six games.

NWU finished the year 30-3, the 30 wins were the most in program history, and the unanimous No. 1 in the country. The Prairie Wolves ranked top five in 11 statistical categories in NCAA Division III.
