A two-sport athlete, Gina Duensing (Lincoln, Neb.) earned seven varsity letters playing volleyball and women’s basketball for the Plainsmen from 1992-97.
 
In volleyball, Duensing was a four-year starter from 1992-95 earning All-NIAC honors in all four seasons.  She was 1st-Team All-NIAC as a junior and senior.  She finished with 1,223 career kills that was second all-time at NWU when she graduated and still ranks sixth today.  She set the school record for career aces and still ranks second with 204, while her 308 career blocks is still fifth all-time.
 
Duensing, a Norris High School graduate, returned to the NWU women’s basketball team for the 1996-97 season after taking two years to concentrate on volleyball.  As a senior, she led the team in scoring at 12.6 points per game to earn All-NIAC recognition at forward.
 
Upon graduation she remained at Nebraska Wesleyan in a coaching role.  Chambers was an assistant women’s basketball coach for five years and head softball coach for two seasons (2000-01).
 
As the head volleyball coach from 2004-11, Chambers finished her career second all-time at NWU with 138 coaching victories.  She led the Prairie Wolves to seven consecutive NCAA III Tournament appearances, and a 23-6 record in 2010 for the highest win percentage in team history.
