Women’s Track and Field Places Third, Men’s Track and Field Finishes Fifth At Conference Championships


DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 15, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's track and field team placed third and the men's track and field team finished fifth at the 2021 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Outdoor Championships in Dubuque, Iowa. The Prairie Wolves scored 112 points in the women's meet and had 80 points in the men's meet.

NWU's 4x800-meter relay team claimed the gold medal in the event with a time 9:17.09. The time not only set a facility record but also set a new program record. The relay team consisted of Madi Bahe, Allie McLuen, Camryn Larsen, and Gabby Thomas

The 4x400-meter relay team ran to victory with a time 3:51.13, which too set a new facility record. The team was made up of Larsen, Isabella Hilger, Aspen Rolfes, and Reagan Janzen

Janzen also won the 800-meter run with a time 2:15.67. Janzen won the A-R-C 800-meter title during the 2021 indoor season as well.

Kyle Dickinson earned the gold medal in the 400-meter dash. Dickinson clocked a time of 48.46, more than a half-second faster than the runner-up. 

Nebraska Wesleyan had All-Conference Medalists in the shot put from Dayton Dolincheck and Linnaea Konfrst. Konfrst added a second All-Conference medal in the discus. Leah Treffer was All-Conference in the 10,000-meter run along with Avery Decker in the Javelin and Aspen Rolfes in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. The 4x100-meter relay team of Shantel Koranda, Maddie Moran, Bre Geary, and Rolfes earned All-Conference Medalist honors in the event as well.

NWU had All-Conference Medalist honors in the long jump and triple jump from Trent Koehler. Andrew Davis picked up All-Conference accolades in the discus as did Kyle Ott in the hammer throw. The 4x400-meter relay team of Dickinson, Ben Christenson, Gabe Anderson, and Ethan Schmidt also earned All-Conference Medalist honors.

Nebraska Wesleyan competes in the Augie Twilight Qualifier in Rock Island, Illinois on Thursday, May 20.
