SEWARD, Neb. -- Competing in their second outdoor event of the 2015 season, the Nebraska Wesleyan University track & field team took part in the Concordia Invitational on Saturday in Seward.
NWU had event winners, individuals who moved up the NCAA III performance list and broke a school record on the day.
Katie Krick won two events to lead the Prairie Wolves women's team. Krick continues to be a force in the sprint events as she won both the 100 and 200 meters. She ran a 12.38 to win the 100 and came back with a season-best time of 25.35 in the 200 meters to move onto the NWU top 10 chart in the event.
Samantha Dolezal had a solid day in the throws for the NWU women as she placed third in the discus and fourth in the shot put. Dolezal's mark of 155-5 in the discus was the third best throw in NCAA III this year. Her toss of 45-8.5 in the shot put ranks 4th in NCAA III this year.
The Prairie Wolves had two women jump 5-3 in the high jump as part of six athletes that all made the winning height.Â
Jill Brichacek finished fourth with
Mary Andrew sixth based on their misses.
The Nebraska Wesleyan men had one individual event winner as
Brock Taute won the 3,000 Steeplechase. Taute ran a time of 9:22.95 to win the event.
Tanner Brown finished 2nd in the 5,000 meters placing only behind an unattached runner. Brown had a time of 15:42.20.Â
Tanner Dewey was 2nd in the 800 meters in a time of 1:56.72.
The NWU 4x100 team ran their fastest time of the year crossing the line in 42.06. The four runners were
Jordan Flemington,
Garrett Teel, Zack Holka and
Craig Timmons.
Garrett Sellhorst moved into the top 15 in NCAA III with a jump of 46-8.25 in the triple jump. Sellhorst now ranks 12th in the country in the event.

Sean Lindgren set a new school record in the hammer throw as he got a mark of 173-4 to break the previous record of 171-7 set by Andy Gallagher in 2011.
