NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Nebraska Wesleyan University men's track and field team was ranked No. 11 in the fourth release of the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index, as released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Prairie Wolves came in at No. 11 at Outdoor Checkpoint No. 4 with a score of 101.09 points, slotting four spots behind Wartburg (No. 7) and six spots behind Central (No. 5) among American Rivers Conference programs.

The USTFCCCA TFRI is a mathematical system used to rank collegiate track and field teams based on current season performances only.

NWU earned the No. 11 ranking on the strength of seven individual top-30 ranking marks, highlighted by sophomore Sam Clements, who ranks No. 4 nationally in the shot put with a mark of 18.23 meters (59 feet, 9¾ inches). A full list of NWU's individual contributors to the TFRI is below.

Nebraska Wesleyan also had six event groups ranked in the top 25 nationally, ranking No. 3 in the 110-meter hurdles, No. 4 in the shot put, No. 6 in the hammer throw, No. 13 in the discus, No. 18 in the 100 meters and No. 24 in the 400 meters.

The Prairie Wolves will be back in action at home at the Prairie Wolf Invitational on Friday (April 24). NWU will also send select athletes to the Drake Relays Thursday through Saturday.
