Track and Field to Host Prairie Wolf Invite

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Friday will be Nebraska Wesleyan's sixth meet of the outdoor season and the second to occur at Abel Stadium. NWU opened the year with a strong showing at the USM Distance Festival in late March and hasn't looked back. Thus far, the team has posted 25 top 50 national marks, and 25 program top 10 performances. Currently the Prairie Wolf men are ranked #11 in the USTFCCCA national ranking. Nebraska Wesleyan will look to continue its strong season on Friday while preparing for next week's A-R-C championship meet.

HISTORIC FIRST
At Sunday's Loper Invite, Eli Etherton became the first athlete in program history to run sub 14 in the men's 110 hurdles. Etherton's time of 13.94 ranks him fifth nationally and secured him A-R-C Male Athlete of the Week honors. 


DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY DERRICK MCKENZIE
Derrick McKenzie is in his third season as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first two seasons, Nebraska Wesleyan has 33 NCAA qualifying performances, 12 NCAA All-Americans, one individual national championship and two national runner ups. The Prairie Wolves have won nine individual conference championships and broke numerous school records. Prior to being named Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, McKenzie served as an assistant coach at NWU, where he coached sprints and relays.
