NWU Wins Four Golds At South Dakota Twilight


Vermillion, S.D. (May 6, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams competed in the South Dakota Twilight Meet in Vermillion, South Dakota. NWU finished with four first-place finishes and four runner-up finishes in the meet that included teams from all three NCAA divisions along with teams from the NAIA level. 

The Prairie Wolves picked up gold medals in the women's and men's 4x400-meter relays. The women's team of Isabella Hilger, Alexa Koza, Isabella Hogue, and Reagan Janzen won their race with a time of 3:50.46. On the men's side, the team of Gabe Anderson, Kyle Dickinson, Lucas Arps, and Garrett Lenners claimed their title with a time of 3:16.86. 

Kyle Dickinson took the top spot in the men's 400-meter dash by more than a half second. Dickinson won the event with a time of 48.47. NWU took the top two spots in the men's 800-meter run. Garrett Lenners won the race with a time of 1:52.44, just ahead of teammate Tyler Taubenheim at 1:53.52. 

Isabella Hilger finished runner-up in the women's 400-meter dash. Hilger clocked a time of 56.95. Reagan Janzen also finished second in the 800-meter run, with a time of 2:12.90. Both runners finished as the top NCAA Division III competitor and runner-ups to a competitor from an NCAA Division I team.

Along with taking the top spot in the men's 4x400-meter relay, Nebraska Wesleyan had a team take the second spot in the event. Ben Christenson, Rudy Vrtiska, Tyler Taubenheim, and Javier Kenney teamed up to run a 3:22.07 in the race.
