LINCOLN, Neb. — Seven Nebraska Wesleyan athletes have earned berths in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the NCAA announced Friday evening. The No. 11-ranked Prairie Wolf men qualified six individuals, highlighted by a trio of 110-meter hurdlers, the most NWU has sent in a single individual event since 2017.
Eli Etherton leads the group with a school-record 13.94 seconds, entering the national meet as the No. 6 seed. Noah Smith (14.15, No. 13 seed) and Jacob Young (14.20, No. 18 seed) round out the historic threesome in the event.
Sam Clements enters nationals ranked second in the shot put with a school record throw of 18.48 meters. Colin Wojtkiewicz is seeded fifth in the hammer throw at 60.72 meters. Reed Emsick will compete in the 800 meters as the No. 7 seed after running a 1:49.66.
On the women's side, Kaelyn Means qualified in the discus throw, seeded seventh with a mark of 48.54 meters.
The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for May 21-23 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in La Crosse, Wis.
