NWU Wins Three More Events, Men’s Team Fifth Women’s Team Sixth At A-R-C Championships


DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 13, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams claimed three individual championships on the second day of the American Rivers Conference Championships in Dubuque, Iowa. As a team, the NWU men's team finished fifth with 90.5 points and the women's team finished sixth with 58.5 points.

The Prairie Wolves dominated both of the conference's 800-meter runs. Reagan Janzen claimed her third straight A-R-C women's 800-meter dash title with a time of 2:11.32. The time set a new program record and a new facility record at Loras College's Finnegan Family Track. In the men's race, Garrett Lenners won the race with a time of 1:51.24. For Lenners, it was his first career conference title in the event. 

The field events were showcased and represented by Andrew Davis. Davis won his second title at the conference championships by winning the men's hammer throw. Davis won the event with a mark of 174'-03", which is the third best mark in program history. 

Kyle Dickinson and Avery Decker claimed second-place finishes for the Prairie Wolves. Dickinson was the conference runner-up in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 47.83. Decker was the A-R-C runner-up in the women's javelin throw with a performance of 140'-11"

Marshall Chasek took bronze for Nebraska Wesleyan with a third-place finish in the men's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.02.

Yesterday, Nebraska Wesleyan had two conference champions. Davis won the discus throw and the women's 4x800-meter relay team of Camryn Larsen, McKenna Marsh, Thea Seibel, and Reagan Janzen won their race. NWU had a runner-up finish from Kyle Ott in the shot put. Eli Mackowski in the high jump, Trisha Hayes in the heptathlon, and men's 4x800-meter relay team of Gabe Anderson, Tyler Taubenheim, Javier Kenney, and Garrett Lenners all finished third. Day one recap, available here.
