NWU Wins Two Events On Day One Of A-R-C Championships


DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 13, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams claimed two championships on the first day of the American Rivers Conference Championships in Dubuque, Iowa. 

The women's 4x800-meter relay team claimed the first gold of the meet for the Prairie Wolves. The team of Camryn Larsen, McKenna Marsh, Thea Seibel, and Reagan Janzen won the title with a time of 7:37.30, which is the third-fastest mark in program history. 

On the men's side, Andrew Davis earned the top spot in the discus. Davis recorded a mark of 164'-08" to win the event by more than three feet. Additionally, the mark is the fourth-best in program history.

NWU also had four student-athletes earn All-Conference accolades on the opening day. In the men's shot put, Kyle Ott finished second and Eric Lenz was third. Eli Mackowski was third in the men's high jump. Trisha Hayes placed third in the women's heptathlon. 

After day one, NWU's men's team is in fourth place with 40.5 points and the women's team is in sixth place with 20 points. Day two of the 2022 A-R-C Championships starts tomorrow with field events at 10 a.m. and running events at 1:30 p.m. Results from today's action, live results for tomorrow, and a complete schedule are available here.
