Seward, Neb. (April 9, 2022) – The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams competed in the 2022 Concordia Invitational at Concordia University on April 9. The Prairie Wolves combined for 10 top-three finishes including four event titles.
Tessa Hoffman took the women's triple jump title. Hoffman posted a triple jump leap of 35-10 ¾ (10.94m).Â
Addie Thomas just missed the podium placing fourth in the event.
On the track,
Reagan Janzen won another title this weekend, this time in the women's 1500m, posting a personal best of 4:47.52, which is just outside the top ten in school history. The women's 4x400-meter relay team of
Isabella Hilger,
Isabella Hogue,
Reagan Janzen, and
Alexa Koza was victorious with a time of 3:50.34, the sixth-fastest time in school history, and currently ranks second in NCAA Division III. The men's 4x400-meter relay followed up with a win of their own. The team of
Ben Christenson,
Kyle Dickinson,
Gabe Anderson and
Garrett Lenners won the race with a time of 3:19.42
In the men's 800m,
Gabe Anderson finished second with a time of 1:56.26. The Prairie Wolf took third through sixth in the men's 1500m led by
Garrett Lenners with a third place time of 4:08.55.
McKenna Marsh finished third with a time of 12:19.24 in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase.
In the Javelin Throw, two Prairie Wolves finished third. On the men's side, first-time javelin thrower
Trace Leners had a throw of 149-4 (45.51m), while
Avery Decker had a throw of 112-5 (34.27m) for the NWU women.
