Track and Field Delivers Quality Performances at Two Meets on Friday

Lincoln Nebraska (February 17th, 2023)- The Nebraska Wesleyan Track and Field team competed at two meets on Friday. Runners remained in Lincoln and competed in the Husker Tune Up at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Throwers and jumpers headed west to Kearney, Nebraska to compete in the Loper Tune Up.

How it Happened
  • Eli Etherton became the first Prairie Wolf in school history to break eight seconds in the 60 meter hurdles. His time of 7.99 is currently the fastest in Division III.
  • In the 200 meter dash, three Prairie Wolves broke 23 seconds. Morgan Conner ran a 22.25, and came within .01 seconds of breaking into the top 10 in school history. Freshman Dallen Booker ran a 22.54 to set a new personal best. Fellow freshman McClain Meyer also set a new personal best with a time of 22.88.
  • The men's A-team 4x400 meter relay consisting of Kyle DickinsonBen ChristensonGabe Anderson, and Garrett Lenners ran the seventh fastest time in school history and finished in first with a time of 3:15.15.
  • Keeley Hourigan moved into 9th in school history in the women's 60 meter hurdles with a 9.22 performance. 
  • Kynzi Booth tied her personal best with a 7.84 in the women's 60 meter dash.
  • Isabella Hilger ran a 57.89 in the women's 400 meter dash to set a new season best.
  • Alexa Koza set a new personal best in the women's 200 meter dash by running a 26.14
  • In the women's 3k, Claire Kallhoff set a 16 second personal best.

How it Happened
  • Terrell Davis ran a 7.16 in the men's 60 meter dash to set a personal best.
  • Eric Lenz threw a season best of 15.45 meters in the men's shot put and finished in second.
  • Connor Wilcox threw 16.34 meters in the men's weight throw setting a personal best and moving him into 10th in school history.
  • Ellie Akough threw 17.93 meters to set a new personal best and broke the school record in the women's weight throw. 
  • Natalie Cummins set a personal best by running an 8.04 and winning the women's 60 meter dash. 
  • Avery Decker threw 13.92 to set a season best in the women's weight throw.

Up Next
The Prairie Wolves begin championship season next weekend at the American Rivers Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Storm Lake, Iowa. The championship meet will be held over a two-day period. The first day is Friday, February 24th, and the second day is Saturday, February 25th.
