SEWARD, Neb. — The Nebraska Wesleyan track and field teams continued their 2026 outdoor season on Monday, combining for 26 top-five finishes at the Concordia Invitational in Seward, Nebraska.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior Kaelyn Means of Stockton, Kansas headlined the day's performances with a first-place finish in the women's discus throw, launching a mark of 48.54 meters to win the event. The throw moved Means to third on Nebraska Wesleyan's all-time charts and second in NCAA Division III.
The women's distance corps had a strong showing in the longer events. Madelyn McBratney crossed second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:56.68, while Aubrey Kipper finished fourth at 19:02.33. In the 10,000 meters, Avary Byers took second at 39:34.60, Ella Herzberg was third at 39:47.75, and Reese Kozisek placed fourth at 40:48.48. Anna Lundahl added a third-place finish in the discus at 44.54 meters, and Makenna Meyer placed third in the hammer throw at 49.29 meters. Libby Driver rounded out the women's top-five efforts with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault at 2.98 meters.
On the men's side, Nebraska Wesleyan swept the top spot in three events. Aydon McDonald won the javelin throw with a mark of 48.46 meters. Grahm Peterson and Robbie Rist shared the pole vault title, each clearing 4.25 meters. Sophomore Sam Clements took the shot put with a heave of 17.48 meters.
Other notable men's performances included Conner Ross placing second in the 10,000 meters at 32:00.30 and Noah Thomas finishing third at 32:10.01. Josh Knispel took fourth in the 1,500 meters at 4:08.37, and Kyle Finney placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 10:03.17. Colin Wojtkiewicz added third-place finishes in both the hammer throw at 56.06 meters and the shot put at 15.61 meters, while Gavin Kelch finished fourth in the discus at 48.69 meters.
