NWU Duals Rival Doane On Track


LINCOLN (April 15, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams hosted a dual against rival Doane at Abel Stadium and Greeno Track in Lincoln. The Tigers bested the Prairie Wolves 112.5-79.5 on the men's side and 100-90 on the women's side. 

NWU's Isabella Hogue turned in another impressive performance on the track. Hogue won the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.80. The time currently leads all of NCAA Division III and also set a new program record. Later in the day, Hogue won the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 24.28. Two weeks ago, Hogue ran the Division's fastest time in the 200-meter dash at 24.24.

In the 400-meter dash, Isabella Hilger and Kyle Dickinson both claimed the top spot in their races. Hilger won the women's race with a time of 57.54 and Dickinson won the men's race with a time of 48.22. Reagan Janzen and Garrett Lenners also claimed the top spots in the 800-meter run. Janzen ran to first in the women's race with a time of 2:21.57 and Lenners took the title in the men's race with a time of 1:52.28.

Janzen was victorious in the women's 1500-meter run as well. Janzen won the race with a time of 4:55.64. NWU went first through third in the men's 5000-meter run. Colby Karr led the trio with a time of 15:26.00.

The 4x400-meter relay was controlled by the Prairie Wolves. The women's relay team of Janzen, Bre Geary, Gabby Thomas, and Hilger posted a time of 4:05.74 to win their race. The men's team of Gabe Anderson, Dickinson, Rudy Vrtiska, and Lenners claimed the race title with a time of 3:17.97. 

In the field events, Andrew Davis won the men's discus throw. Davis won the event with a mark of 51.59 meters. Tessa Hoffman won the women's triple jump with a performance of 11.01 meters, just edging out teammate Addie Thomas.
