Prairie Wolves Wrap-Up Regular-Season At Wartburg Qualifier

WAVERLY, Iowa. (March 5, 2022) – The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the 2022 indoor regular-season at the Wartburg Qualifier in Waverly, Iowa.

Isabella Hogue and Reagan Janzen continued to improve on an already impressive 2022 season. Both Hogue and Janzen set program records in the final regular-season meet of the year.

Hogue sprinted to the top of the record books in the women's 200-meter dash. Hogue won the event with a time of 24.87, which not only lowered her school record but also set a new facility record at Wartburg's Hoover Fieldhouse.

Janzen shattered the program's women's 800-meter run record by more than three seconds. Janzen clocked a 2:12.98 in the event to lower the record she already owned.

Hogue and Janzen then teamed up with Isabella Hilger and Alexa Koza to run NCAA Division III's second-fastest time in the women's 4x400-meter relay. The relay team turned in a time of 3:50.01 to win the race and stand at the third-best time in program history.

On the men's team, the 4x400-meter relay team of Kyle Dickinson, Ben Christenson, Gabe Anderson, and Garrett Lenners ran a program top 10 all-time mark of 3:18.98. The time ranked eighth in NWU history.

Eric Lenz added his name to the top 10 all-time charts in the men's shot put. Lenz recorded a throw of 15.70 (51'-6.25") to finish third in the event and 10th all-time at Nebraska Wesleyan. In the event, Kyle Ott trailed Lenz by just .1 of a meter (51'-5.75") to finish fourth in the meet.

Nebraska Wesleyan now awaits the selections of the NCAA Division III track and field participants. The announcement of qualifying student-athletes will be made on Sunday, March 6.
