CONWAY, Ark. (February 19, 2022) – The Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team dropped its doubleheader at Hendrix College to open the 2022 season. The Warriors took game one, 11-8, then won game two, 7-1, in Conway, Arkansas.

Game One Recap
Hendrix didn't panic after NWU jumped out to a 6-2 lead through the first three innings of the season opener for the Prairie Wolves. Nebraska Wesleyan's Evan Kling had a two-run single to score Riley Ward and Derek Kolbush in the top of the first inning.
 
After Hendrix tied the score at 2-2, NWU erupted for four runs in the top of the third. Kaleb Knox clobbered a double to left-center field to plate Ward and Kolbush. John Haimowitz followed with a double of his own to score Knox. Paul Georget added a two-out single to bring in Haimowitz.
 
Hendrix rallied by scoring nine unanswered runs game while silencing the Prairie Wolf bats over the next five innings. In the ninth, Knox slammed a two-run homer off the left field scoreboard, but it was too little too late.
 
Game Two Recap
Hendrix pitchers held the high powered Nebraska Wesleyan offense scoreless until the ninth inning. NWU found life when John Haimowitz singled then Kaleb Knox scored the only run for the Prairie Wolves. But the Warriors were able get out of the inning without further damage and win their sixth consecutive game in 2022.
