NWU Sees Another Program Record Fall

CRETE, Neb. (January 29, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's and men's track and field teams competed at the Beile Invitational in Crete, Nebraska.

NWU's Isabella Hogue set the program record, and best time NCAA Division II, in the women's 60-meter dash prelims with a time of 7.63. Hogue accomplished the feat a week after teammate Maddie Moran did it at the Prairie Wolf Invitational. Breanna Geary ran a 7.91 in the finals, which won the race and sits 10th in program history.

Isabella Hilger took the top spot in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 59.17, a season-best. McKenna Marsh won the women's mile race with a time of 5:30.43

In the women's field events, the Prairie Wolves had a strong showing in the triple jump. Tessa Hoffman won the event with a mark of 35-10.5 and Addie Thomas was second with a mark of 34-7.75

Garrett Lenners earned a victory for Nebraska Wesleyan in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.88. The time by Lenners is a personal best as a Prairie Wolf. Mason Coulter ran to the top spot of the men's 1000-meter run with a time of 2:36.26, which narrowly edged out teammate Tyler Taubenheim by .40.

Pierce Pennell and Anthony Krick went first and second in the 3000-meter run as NWU took three of the top five spots in the race. Pennell turned in a time of 9:15.72 with Krick clocking a 9:30.86.

The men's field events saw runner-up finished from Eli Mackowski in the high jump with a mark of 6-8.25 and Kyle Ott in the shot put with a toss of 48-6.75.
