Strong Performances Propel Prairie Wolves To Win Central College-Simpson College Triangular


PELLA, Iowa. (April 30, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams both won the Central College-Simpson College Triangular in Pella, Iowa. The NWU men's team scored 147 points for its win and the NWU's women's team scored 148 points for its win.

Reigning A-R-C Men's Field Performer of the Week, Kyle Ott, won the shot put with a season-best performance of 46'-3.25". Seth Knapp won the hammer throw with a mark of 161'-2", his best mark as a Prairie Wolf. Trent Koehler claimed the triple jump title with a jump of 45'-2.5" as the Prairie Wolves swept the top three places in the discipline.

Kyle Dickinson raced to a win in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.44, the best in Dickinson's NWU career. Garrett Lenners won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.21 as the Prairie Wolves claimed the top three spots in the event. Lenners and Dickinson teamed up with Gabe Anderson and Ben Christenson to win the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:17.87, their best time this season. Marshall Chasek won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.77 and Rudy Vrtiska won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 54.71.

Aspen Rolfes won the 100-meter dash with the secondest fastest time in program history at 12.11 as NWU took the top eight spots in the event. Rolfes also won the 200-meter dash with a time turned in at 24.67; the Prairie Wolves again took the top five spots in the race. Isabella Hilger won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.69, Hilger's best time this season.

In the 800-meter run, Nebraska Wesleyan swept the top three spots with Reagan Janzen winning the event with a program-record time of 2:13.60. Leah Treffer won the 3000-meter run, in Treffer's best performance as a Prairie Wolf, at 10:30.46. Lindsay Schauda won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.81.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Rolfes, Maddie Moran, Bre Geary, and Shantel Koranda won the race with a time of 47.65, which is sixth best in NWU history. The 4x400-meter team of Hilger, Rolfes, Reagan Janzen, and Camryn Larsen claimed the title with a time of 3:52.09, the ninth fastest time in program history.

In field events, Linnaea Konfrst won two events. Konfrst won the shot put with a performance of 43'-11.75" and the discus with a throw of 147'-10". Tessa Hoffman won the triple jump with a mark of 35'-10".
