Track and Field Cruises To Home Triangular Victories

LINCOLN, Neb. (February 27, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams cruised to victory in the NWU Triangular at Knight Fieldhouse. The NWU men's team won with 130 points and the women's team won with 101 points.

Reagan Janzen won the 800-meter run, by more than three seconds, with a time of 2:16.80. Janzen's time also set a new program record for the event. Aspen Rolfes turned in a time of 58.26 to win the women's 400-meter dash. Bre Geary won the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.40. 

The field events had Tessa Hoffman winning the triple jump with a mark of 35'-11.5" and Emily Druse winning the pole vault with a jump of 8'-4.25". Madison Brase claimed the weight throw title with a performance of 49-1.75" and

Preston Decker won the men's one-mile race with a time of 4:39.07. Marshall Chasek took first-place in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.74 and Ben Christenson won the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.73. The 200-meter dash was won by Keegan Rich with a time of 24.01. Javier Kenney teamed up with Finian Herbert, Jake Newman, and Zachary Frandolig as NWU won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:46.14.

In the field events, Matt Winter won the long jump with a mark of 21'-9" and Trystin Myers won the triple jump with a performance of 41'-1". Austin Neufield won the pole vault with a jump of 12'-9.5". The throwing events were dominated by the Prairie Wolves as Kyle Ott won the shot put with a mark of 44'-2.75" and Seth Knapp won the weight throw with a performance of 59'.5.5". 

What's Next
Nebraska Wesleyan travels to the American Rivers Conference meet in Waverly, Iowa. The women's meet is scheduled for Saturday, March 6 and the men's meet set for Sunday, March 7.
