LINCOLN, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan baseball will host Simpson College, Tuesday afternoon, before opening an eight game road trip at Loras.

Nebraska Wesleyan and Simpson will play at 3:30 and 6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 7th. Both games will be played at Sandhills Global Youth Complex, in Lincoln, Nebraska. NWU will live stream each game and carry live stats. Nebraska Wesleyan will then head to Dubuque, Iowa, for a three game series against Loras that will begin on Friday, April 10th at 6:00 PM. The two teams will contest a doubleheader on Saturday, with games at noon and 3:00 PM. Loras will live stream the game and carry live stats.

After a rough eight game stretch that saw the team go 1-7, Nebraska Wesleyan found its rhythm against Wartburg, defeating the Knights twice to claim their first series win of the season. The Prairie Wolves sit at 7-16 overall, and hold a 2-5 record in conference play. Against the Knights, NWU saw dominant pitching efforts in games one and two, as starters Garrett Walsh and Jack Starr each pitched six innings and allowed zero runs. Nebraska Wesleyan's pitching staff maintains a 1.57 WHIP and 6.26 ERA, while totaling 152 strikeouts. As a defense, NWU holds a .959 fielding percentage and has allowed 195 hits and 158 runs. Jeff Christy is in his second year as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first season, Christy led the team to their first winning season since 2009 and helped NWU reach the A-R-C tournament championship game for the first time in school history.

SCOUTING SIMPSON
Simpson enters Tuesday with a 13-9 record. The Storm are 4-3 in conference play and earned a series win against Dubuque last weekend. The Storm hold a slash line of .276/.374/.402 with 117 runs scored on 192 hits. Defensively, the Storm carry a .964 fielding percentage with pitchers combining for a 3.92 ERA and 1.28 WHIP. Simpson is led by Nathan Roling, in his 10th season.
