Baseball to Begin Seven Game Homestand Tuesday Night

Lincoln, NE - Fresh off an explosive series victory over Dubuque, Nebraska Wesleyan returns to Lincoln to begin a season ending seven game home stand.

DATE, LOCATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan will host Buena Vista at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 21st. Later in the week, the Prairie Wolves will welcome Coe to town with the series beginning with a 6:00 PM game on Friday, April 24th. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday with game one beginning at 1:00PM and game two beginning at 4:00 PM All four games will be played at Sandhills Global Youth Complex, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream the game and carry live stats.

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan has won three of its last five games and enters Tuesday 11-22 overall and 6-11 in the American Rivers Conference. The Prairie Wolves earned a their second conference series victory by claiming games two and three over Dubuque. The Black and Gold have found an offensive rhythm as of late, scoring 10 or more runs in five of their last eight games. NWU holds a team slash line of .267/.382/.382, and has scored 216 runs. The Prairie Wolves have combined for 296 hits, with 77 being extra base hits, including 20 home runs. Easton Johnson has been a crucial weapon for NWU, leading the team in hits (47), RBIs (32), and home runs (5). Additionally, Johnson holds a .356/.598/.438 slash line and has also gone 10-11 in steals attempts. Brady Bell ranks second on the team with 25 RBIs and has also earned 38 hits. Defensively, the Prairie Wolves have maintained a .957 fielding percentage. Nebraska Wesleyan's pitching staff has combined for a 6.78 ERA and 1.74 WHIP. Garrett Walsh is tied for the team lead with four wins. Walsh holds a 4-3 record, in seven starts, and has struck out 35 batters while posting a 2.54 ERA.

HEAD COACH JEFF CHRISTY
Jeff Christy is in his second year as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first season, Christy led the team to their first winning season since 2009 and helped NWU reach the A-R-C tournament championship game for the first time in school history.

EARNING HONORS
Senior Easton Johnson was tabbed as the American Rivers Conference Position Player of the Week after going 13-22 with 12 RBIs, and nine runs scored. Johnson recorded an extra base hit in four of the team's five games. Johnson's bat powered the Prairie Wolves to a series win at Dubuque, which include a six hit, four RBI, and two run performance in Nebraska Wesleyan's 13-11 game two win. 

BATS ARE HOT
Nebraska Wesleyan's offense has consistently found a way to score runs this season. The Prairie Wolves have scored at least seven runs in 12 of 33 games. This includes 20+ run performances against Howard Payne and Dubuque. Nebraska Wesleyan is 8-4 when scoring seven or more runs.

Buena Vista enters Tuesday with an 9-25 record. The Beavers are 5-15 in conference play and have lost their last three games.
