Baseball to Face Buena Vista and Dubuque on the Road

Lincoln, NE - After dropping two of three at Loras last weekend, Nebraska Wesleyan baseball will continue its road trip with series at Buena Vista and Dubuque.

DATE, LOCATION, LIVE STREAM & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista will play at 3:30 and 6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 14th. Both games will be played at BVU field in Storm Lake, Iowa. Buena Vista will live stream each game and carry live stats. Nebraska Wesleyan will then head to Dubuque, Iowa, for a three game series against Dubuque that will begin on Friday, April 17th at 3:00 PM. The two teams will contest a doubleheader on Saturday, with games at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Dubuque will live stream the game and carry live stats.

ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan enters this week 8-20 overall and 3-9 in the American Rivers Conference. Last weekend, NWU took one of three games against Loras, winning game one 12-10, before falling in games two and three. The Black and Gold carry a slash line of .254/.360/.369, with 157 runs scored on 234 hits. Additionally, NWU has connected for 59 extra base hits, including 15 home runs. Leading the way is Easton Johnson, who has posted 20 RBIs and four home runs while ranking second on the team with 34 hits. Duncan Ortega is the team leader in hits with 35. Ortega has also driven in 15 RBIs and ranks first on the team with a .315 batting average. Defensively, NWU carries a .958 fielding percentage, while the pitching staff has combined for a 7.07 ERA, and 1.75 WHIP. Garrett Walsh has emerged as the team's ace, putting up a 3-2 record while earning 26 strikeouts.

HEAD COACH JEFF CHRISTY
Jeff Christy is in his second year as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first season, Christy led the team to their first winning season since 2009 and helped NWU reach the A-R-C tournament championship game for the first time in school history.

SCOUTING BUENA VISTA
Buena Vista enters Tuesday with an 8-21 record. The Beavers are 4-11 in conference play and earned a series win over Coe last weekend. The Beavers hold a slash line of .265/.383/.354 with 150 runs scored on 253 hits. Defensively, the Beavers carry a .934 fielding percentage with pitchers combining for a 7.27 ERA and 1.87 WHIP. Buena Vista is led by Steve Eddie, in his 26th season

Dubuque enters this week with a 10-16 record. The Spartans are 5-7 in conference play and will face Loras on April 14th.
