Lincoln, NE - The Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team opens the season with an American Rivers Conference weekly honors with freshman,
Garrett Walsh earning pitcher of the week.
Freshman pitcher
Garrett Walsh was named Pitcher of the Week in the A-R-C, the conference office announced Monday. He led the Prairie Wolves to a 3-0 win with a complete game shutout performance. He is the first player in the American Rivers Conference so far this year to throw a complete game shutout.

The freshman from Lincoln, Nebraska, pitched a complete seven innings on February 28th against Grinnell with a total of four hits allowed and five strikeouts. He faced 24 batters and threw 86 pitches. Walsh only allowed four baserunners, and retired 15 of his final 17 batters faced.

Nebraska Wesleyan played Grinnell four times in a doubleheader on both Friday and Saturday. They went 2-2 with in the series, winning and losing a game each day.

The Prairie Wolves return to the diamond on March 6th in Lincoln vs. Hastings College at 3:00 PM, before heading out to Florida to open a 7-game spring break trip starting March 10th.
