Lincoln, NE (April 30th, 2025) - After posting a 3-2 record during a five game home stand, Nebraska Wesleyan baseball heads to Decorah, Iowa, to face Luther, with an A-R-C tournament berth on the line. 

LOCATION, GAME TIME, LIVE STREAM, & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan and Luther will play a three game series beginning on Friday, May 2nd, and ending on Saturday, May 3rd. Friday will see the team play a double header with games at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The regular season finale will occur on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Luther's team1sports page will live stream each game. SCOUTING NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan enters this weekend with a 21-16 overall record. The Prairie Wolves currently sit 10-11 in A-R-C play. Nebraska Wesleyan earned a series victory over Wartburg last weekend, bouncing back from a tough 9-3 loss in game one, with a shutout 4-0 victory in game two. The final game of the series saw Nebraska Wesleyan earn a gritty 4-3 win. Through 37 games, hold a slash line of .292/.374/.441, while scoring 241 runs on 360 hits. The Prairie Wolf offense is led by senior Aaron Chazin who holds a .350 batting average while recording 50 hits. Easton Johnson has also been a consistent performer for NWU with 46 hits and 36 RBIs. Defensively, The Black and Gold carry a .947 fielding percentage, with 908 put outs. Brady Bell leads the team with 229 put outs. Nebraska Wesleyan's pitching staff has recorded a team ERA of 6.33, while posting 265 strike outs.

TURNAROUND SEASON
While not yet complete, Nebraska Wesleyan has displayed significant improvement in multiple areas during the 2025 season. Record wise, NWU's 21 wins are the programs most since winning 28 in 2009. In American Rivers Conference play, the Prairie Wolves' 10 wins are most since 2022. Nebraska Wesleyan has also claimed A-R-C series victories over Dubuque, Central, Simpson, and Wartburg. On the stat sheet, NWU's team batting average of .298 is up 32 points from last year's .260 total. The team has also scored 45 more runs and recorded 38 more hits compared to last season. 

HEAD COACH JEFF CHRISTY
Jeff Christy is in his first season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. He holds a 21-16 record. Christy comes to NWU from Nebraska where he served as an assistant coach from 2019-2023. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN BASEBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan has won 23 conference championships with the most recent occurring in 2009. NWU's last tournament appearance occurred in 1982. Since joining the American Rivers Conference, the Prairie Wolves best finish is third in 2022. 

SCOUTING THE NORSE
Luther enters this week with a 16-20 record, and a 10-11 mark in A-R-C action. Prior to hosting Nebraska Wesleyan, Luther will play a single game against Augustana College on Tuesday, April 29th. Through 36 games, the Norse hold a slash line of .287/.380/.426, while scoring 231 runs on 345 hits. The Norse are coached by Bryan Nikkel, in his 11th season.

This weekend will mark the 26th, 27th, and 28th meetings between Nebraska Wesleyan and Luther. The Norse hold an 18-7 all time series lead.
