Lincoln, NE (March 31st, 2025) - After earning an emphatic 18-4 victory over Buena Vista on Friday, Nebraska Wesleyan baseball returns to Lincoln for a five game home stand this week.

LOCATION, GAME TIME, LIVE STREAM, & LIVE STATS
This week will see Nebraska Wesleyan host Grinnell and Dubuque. All games will be played at Sandhills Global Youth Complex in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Prairie Wolves and Pioneers will play a double header on Tuesday, April 1st, with game one starting at 1:00 p.m., with game two to follow at 3:30 p.m. NWU will then play a three game series with Dubuque with game one set for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch on Friday, April 4th. The Prairie Wolves and Spartans will play a double header on Saturday, with game one beginning at 1:00 p.m. and game two starting at 4:00 p.m. Nebraska Wesleyan's team1sports page will live stream each game. SCOUTING NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan enters this week ready to bounce back from a disappointing 1-3 showing last week. The Prairie Wolves enters Tuesday's contest sporting a 12-6 overall record, with a 2-4 mark in conference play. The Black and Gold earned a dominant 18-4 victory over Buena Vista on Friday, March 29th, which saw NWU mash three home runs, while driving in 13 RBIs. Through 18 games, Nebraska Wesleyan has posted a team slash line of .330/.419/.523. The Prairie Wolves have totaled 166 runs on 203 hits, with 20 home runs and 143 RBIs. Defensively, the Black and Gold hold a .938 fielding percentage. On the mound, Nebraska Wesleyan's pitchers have tallied 122 strike outs while posting a team ERA of 7.70. 

KEEP THE LINE MOVING
Nebraska Wesleyan's offense has emerged as a consistent force during the first month of the season. As a team, the Prairie Wolves have scored 10 or more runs in 11 of 18 games. Individually, Aaron Chazin, Carter Betts, Easton Johnson, Duncan Ortega, and Brady Bell each have 20 or more hits. The quintet has combined for 85 RBIs, 10 home runs, and 99 runs scored.

HEAD COACH JEFF CHRISTY
Jeff Christy is in his first season as the head coach at Nebraska Wesleyan. He holds an 12-6 record. Christy comes to NWU from Nebraska where he served as an assistant coach from 2019-2023. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN BASEBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan has won 23 conference championships with the most recent occurring in 2009. NWU's last tournament appearance occurred in 1982. Since joining the American Rivers Conference, the Prairie Wolves best finish is third in 2022. 

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Grinnell enters Tuesday with a 11-7 record. The Pioneers earned a 30-15 victory over Illinois College in their last game. Grinnell holds a slash line of .312/.415/.491, while scoring 164 runs on 200 hits. The Pioneers are coached by Tim Hollibaugh, in his 29th season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST GRINNELL COLLEGE
Tuesday will mark the sixth and seventh meetings between Nebraska Wesleyan and Grinnell. The Pioneers hold a 3-2 all time series lead.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
Dubuque enters this week with a 10-8 record. Prior to visiting NWU, the Spartans will face Loras in a single game on Tuesday, April 1st. The Spartans carry a slash line of .262/.348/.370, while scoring 100 runs on 160 hits. Defensively Dubuque holds a .957 fielding percentage, while the pitching staff has posted a respectable 4.02 ERA.
