Box Score 2 AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Nebraska Wesleyan Baseball continued its historic start to the 2025 season, sweeping a doubleheader Tuesday with a 12-10 win over Greenville and an 11-9 victory over Minnesota Morris. Game 1: Nebraska Wesleyan 12, Greenville 10
Nebraska Wesleyan's offense exploded early and often, led by a standout performance from Carter Betts, who went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs. The Prairie Wolves tallied 16 hits, including five extra-base hits, to outlast a resilient Greenville squad.
Greenville struck first in the opening inning, but Nebraska Wesleyan responded in the second when Tommy Fiocchi grounded into a fielder's choice to tie the game. The Prairie Wolves took control in the fourth inning, scoring six runs on five hits. Betts delivered the big blow with a three-run homer to right field, giving NWU a 7-2 lead.
Greenville chipped away at the deficit, but Betts struck again in the seventh with a solo shot to extend the lead. Theo Hughes earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs over six innings while striking out seven. Relievers Owen Ducksworth and Brady Bell closed the door late to secure the victory.
Jake Gerardis led the offense with a 4-for-5 performance, while Easton Johnson, Bell, and Jack Carver each added multiple hits. NWU also showcased its speed, stealing three bases in the game.
Game 2: Nebraska Wesleyan 11, Minnesota Morris 9
Jake Shedarowich fueled the Prairie Wolves' offense in Game 2, going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Nebraska Wesleyan pounded out 14 hits, overcoming an early deficit to secure the win.
Minnesota Morris jumped ahead in the fourth inning, but NWU answered with two runs in the top half of the fifth. Shedarowich's RBI single tied the game. The Prairie Wolves broke it open in the ninth, scoring three runs on two hits, including a two-run single by Carter Betts.
Tyler Spreitzer earned the win in relief, allowing two runs over 4.1 innings while striking out four. Dominic Sis shut the door in the ninth, earning the save.
Aaron Chazin had three hits, while Shedarowich, Gerardis and Johnson added two hits apiece. The Prairie Wolves' offense proved relentless, scoring in five of the nine innings.
