Lincoln, NE. (February 25, 2025) - Nebraska Wesleyan baseball is set to begin its 2025 season with a home series against Hamline and Lawrence University.

LOCATION, GAME TIME, LIVE STREAM, & LIVE STATS
Nebraska Wesleyan and Hamline will play a double header on Thursday, February 27th. Game one will start at 1:00 p.m., with game two to follow at 3:30 p.m. Nebraska Wesleyan and Lawrence will play a three game series over the course of Saturday, March 1st, and Sunday, March 2nd. The two teams will play a double header on Saturday, with game one starting at 12:00 p.m., and game two starting at 3:00 p.m. Game three will be played on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. All five games will be played at Den Hartog Field in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska Wesleyan will live stream each game and carry live stats.

SCOUTING NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan enters 2025 with high expectations. The team returns a large portion of last year's roster, including 2024 All Conference infielder Brady Bell. Last season, Bell finished with a team-high 35 hits while recording 13 RBIs and obtaining a .365 batting average. Bell also finished with an on-base percentage of .386 and a slugging percentage of .427. Defensively, Bell had a .960 fielding percentage. As a team, Nebraska Wesleyan finished the year with 196 runs scored, on 322 hits. The Prairie Wolves had a team slash line of .260/.356/.363. Defensively, NWU allowed 315 runs and had a fielding percentage of .941, with 939 put outs. 

HEAD COACH JEFF CHRISTY
Jeff Christy is entering his first season after being introduced at the head coach of Nebraska Wesleyan baseball on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024. Christy comes to NWU from Nebraska where he served as an assistant coach from 2019-2023. 

NEBRASKA WESLEYAN BASEBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan has won 23 conference championships with the most recent occurring in 2009. NWU's last tournament appearance occurred in 1982. Since joining the American Rivers Conference, the Prairie Wolves best finish is third in 2022. 

SCOUTING THE PIPERS
Hamline is yet to play a game in 2025. In 2024, the Pipers posted a 15-24 overall record. Hamline finished the season with a slash line of .271/.375/.370. The Pipers scored 237 runs in 2024. The Pipers are coached by Jim Weyandt, in his 13th season.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST HAMLINE UNIVERSITY
Thursday will mark the third and fourth meetings between Nebraska Wesleyan and Hamline. The Pipers hold a 2-0 all time series lead.

SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
Lawrence is yet to play a game in 2025. In 2024, the Vikings posted a 31-11 overall record. Lawrence finished the season with a slash line of .326/.433/.547. The Vikings scored 408 runs in 2024. The Vikings are led by interm head coach Trent Whitcomb.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY
This weekend will see Nebraska Wesleyan face Lawrence University for the first, second, and third times.
