ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan enters Saturday's meet after a solid performance at the 2025 American Rivers Conference championship meet, where the Prairie Wolf women claimed fourth, while the men took fifth. The Black and Gold saw strong performances from
Delaney Vacek,
Payton Jorczak and
Jenna Lake, who finished 26th, 36th, and 40th. Vacek has been Nebraska Wesleyan's top runner at four of NWU's five meets. As for the men, freshman
Noah Thomas set a new personal best while claiming 24th, while Connor Ross and
Thomas Vasquez also ranked inside the top 40. Nebraska Wesleyan will seek to send its first representative to the NCAA Cross Country Championship meet since Gabby Thomas qualified in 2023.
HEAD COACH CHAD BERENS
Chad Berens is in his third year as head coach for Nebraska Wesleyan cross country. Prior to joining NWU, Berens served as the director of track and field and cross country operations at the University of Utah.
NEBRASKA WESLEYAN CROSS COUNTRY TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan has a rich cross country tradition. The men's team has captured 22 conference championships, while the women's team has won 15. Nationally, the men have finished in the top 10 nine times, and the women have placed in the top 20 nine times.
