Kearney, NE - Nebraska Wesleyan set nine meet records while earning runner up at the two day UNK Invite.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Nebraska Wesleyan's men's and women's teams each finished runner up while setting nine meet records. Individually, the Prairie Wolf women earned four event titles.
Lydi O'Neil swam to victory in the 50 and 100 freestyles, touching the wall in 24.34 and 53.41 seconds.
Elena Lazzaretto cruised to gold in the 100 IM, finishing in 1:00.85.
Haylee Nebola also placed first, winning the 100 backstroke in 59.18. On the men's side
Zachary Cantorna claimed the 1650 freestyle in 16:56.63. The Prairie Wolf women also earned four relay victories. In the 400 freestyle relay, Bea Massa Micon,
Elena Lazzaretto,
Ryleigh Schroeter, and
Lydi O'Neil claimed victory, finishing in 3:36.90, which was six seconds faster than the runner-up from CSU-Pueblo. O'Neil and Lazzaretto continued their dominant meet performances in the 400 medley relay, where they were joined by
Sydney Leslie and
Haylee Nebola. The team would claim gold, finishing in 3:58.67. The 200 medley relay which featured Massa Micon, Lazzarretto, Leslie, and O'Neil, claimed first after touching the wall in 1:49.25.
Ryleigh Schroeter and
Hannah Gibbs would help Lazzaretto and O'Neil claim their fourth relay title of the meet as the Black and Gold claimed the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.72.

Nebraska Wesleyan will travel to Chicago, Illinois, to compete at the three day Phoenix Fall Classic. The meet will run from Friday, November 21st through Sunday, November 23rd.
