LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan swimming and diving placed eight student-athletes on the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team for the 2025-26 season, the organization announced Tuesday.
Kai Trotman, Alec Zurn, Tommy Vasquez and Brodie Hoesing earned the honor on the men's side, while Elena Lazzaretto, Lydi O'Neil, Sydney Leslie and Wesley Hill represented the women's program.
To be considered for the award, student-athletes must be regular contributors during the season, compete in at least 75 percent of meets or finish in the top eight at the conference championship, hold at least sophomore standing and carry a minimum 3.5 grade point average. In 2024-25, fewer than five percent of student-athletes across all sports and divisions received the recognition.
Nebraska Wesleyan reached the maximum number of selections allowed, placing four swimmers from each program on their respective district teams.
The Academic All-District program, administered by the College Sport Communicators, recognizes student-athletes who excel in both competition and the classroom.
