LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan junior Mattia Rosatelli and senior Elena Lazzaretto were named the American Rivers Conference Male and Female Swimming Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 15, following standout performances that highlighted the Prairie Wolves' final competition before the conference championship meet.

Rosatelli continued a dominant junior campaign by winning both of his individual events. The Rome, Italy, native captured first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.12 and followed it with a victory in the 400 individual medley, touching the wall in 4:18.08. He also played a key role on Nebraska Wesleyan's runner-up 400-yard medley relay team, which posted a time of 3:36.07.

Rosatelli's 100 breaststroke time currently ranks 43rd nationally in Division III. The junior has now earned four A-R-C weekly honors this season (Oct. 27, Nov. 25, and Jan. 12) and six conference awards over the course of his career.

On the women's side, Lazzaretto turned in a complete performance, finishing among the top two in all four of her events. The Venice, Italy, native earned individual victories in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.47) and the 400 IM (4:49.39). She also placed second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.24, a swim that broke the Morningside pool record alongside teammate Lydi O'Neil.

Lazzaretto capped the meet as the second leg of the Prairie Wolves' 400-yard medley relay, helping Nebraska Wesleyan post a winning time of 4:00.89. The senior now owns two conference weekly honors this season, having first earned the award on Oct. 20, 2025.

Nebraska Wesleyan returns to the pool following nearly a month off when it competes at the American Rivers Conference Championships, scheduled for Feb. 18–21 at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
