LINCOLN, Neb. (November 10, 2025) - Nebraska Wesleyan swimmers
Zachary Cantorna and
Lydi O'Neil have been named the American Rivers Conference Swimmers of the Week after dominating the UNK Invite this past Friday and Saturday in Kearney, Nebraska. Cantourna claimed the men's honor, while O'Neil took the women's award, following the Prairie Wolves' second-place finish on both the women's and men's side, as well as setting nine meet records.
Cantorna, a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colorado, claimed victory in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 16:56.63. He finished nearly fifteen seconds ahead of his competition. He also swam in the 400 Medley Relay, helping the team place second.
O'Neil, a junior from Alberta, Canada, dominated the pool on the women's side, picking up two individual wins and contributing to four relay titles. She won the 50 yard freestyle with the winning time of 24.78. She also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 24.78. All of her victories, both individually and relays, were meet records.
This tallies six total conference awards for the Prairie Wolves already this season.
Nebraska Wesleyan swimming will travel to Chicago, Illinois to compete in the three-day Phoenix Fall Invitational starting on Friday, Nov. 21 at the University of Chicago.
