Track and Field Continues Breaking Records at Drake Relays

LINCOLN, Neb. (April 27, 2024) - Nebraska Wesleyan track and field traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, this weekend to compete at the 114th Drake Relays.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Avery Decker took eighth in the women's javelin with a throw of 45.37 meters. That distance is also the number two mark in Division III.
The women's sprint medley team consisting of Raegan Levi, Alexa Koza, Gabby Thomas, and Delaney Vacek finished in sixth with a time of 4:11.04. This time is also the fourth fastest in school history.
In the preliminary round of the men's 4x400 meter relay, Nebraska Wesleyan's team of Gabe Anderson, Morgan Conner, Austin Nauert, and Javier Kenney qualified for Saturday's final. Their time of 3:15.01 is the 11th fastest time in Division III.
The men's 4x800 meter relay team consisting of Gabe Anderson, Carter Siems, Lucas Steuter, and Javier Kenney finished in 10th with a time of 7:47.06.
The men's shuttle hurdle relay team consisting of Eli Etherton, Trystin Myers, Tanner Johnson, and Noah Smith finished in 10th with a time of 1:02.78. This time is also the 10th fastest time in school history.
