ABOUT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN
Nebraska Wesleyan started its outdoor campaign at the USM Distance Festival last Friday. The Prairie Wolves logged three top five finishes with
Madelyn McBratney and
Aubrey Kipper claiming fourth and fifth in the women's steeplechase, while
Noah Thomas earned fifth in the men's 5000. NWU set multiple personal bests at the meet, with several freshman starting their collegiate outdoor careers with impressive marks that are sure to improve as the season progresses. The Prairie Wolves enter Sunday off a strong indoor season which saw three All-Americans, seven national qualifiers, one A-R-C champion and 14 All-Conference performances. As a team, the Prairie Wolf men took third at the A-R-C Indoor Championships while the women claimed fourth.
DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY DERRICK MCKENZIE
Derrick McKenzie is in his third season as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first two seasons, Nebraska Wesleyan has 33 NCAA qualifying performances, 12 NCAA All-Americans, one individual national championship and two national runner ups. The Prairie Wolves have won nine individual conference championships and broke numerous school records. Prior to being named Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, McKenzie served as an assistant coach at NWU, where he coached sprints and relays.
