ERIC IGNATOWSKI PROFILE
Eric Ignatowski was hired as the 11th head coach in program history in November of 2022 and enters his second season as the skipper of Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first season, he directed the Prairie Wolves to a 14-26 record. Prior to taking over at Nebraska Wesleyan, Ignatowski spent 10 years as an assistant coach at Millikan University, where he helped the Big Blue win the CCIW Tournament Championship in 2021. Ignatowski also coached 25 athletes who were awarded All-Conference honors.
LOOKING TO STAY HOT
Jason English has started the 2024 season strong. Through eight games, the senior outfielder has recorded two home runs, including a two run home run in game one of Nebraska Wesleyan's series against East Central. English has also hit one triple and two doubles to go along with a .367 batting average. English has also hit nine RBIs and carries a slugging percentage of 73.3. Defensively, English has posted a 1.000 % fielding percentage.
NEBRASKA WESLEYAN BASEBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan has won 23 conference championships with the most recent occurring in 2009. NWU's last tournament appearance occurred in 1982. Since joining the American Rivers Conference, the Prairie Wolves best finish is third in 2022.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
The University of Dallas enters this weekend with a 10-1 record. The Crusaders defeated Randall 10-9 in their last game. Jake Amoroso has recorded a 12 hits and holds a .273 batting average. As a team, the Crusaders carry a .303 batting average and have scored 83 runs on the season. The Crusaders are coached by Erik Grafton who is in his 20th season.
