LINCOLN, Neb. (February 23, 2022) - Nebraska Wesleyan Baseball is set to host Grinnell college in Kansas City this weekend
SERIES INFORMATION
- The series will be played at Home field Baseball Complex in Kansas City, Kansas.
- Nebraska Wesleyan and Grinnell have met twice all time. Each team has won one game. Nebraska Wesleyan won the first game of last season's double header 9-8. Grinnell took game two by a score of 13-12.
GAME TIMES
- Saturday, February 24th, 2024: Saturday will see the Prairie Wolves and Pioneers play a double header. Game one will begin at 11:00 a.m. Game two will begin at 1:30 p.m.
- Sunday, February 25th, 2024: Sunday will feature the Prairie Wolves and Pioneers concluding the series with a game at 11:00 a.m.

Nebraska Wesleyan enters this weekend after a 2-1 series victory over Westminster.
Jake Gerardis had a big series against the Blue Jays, where he got five hits, and recorded two RBIs. As a team Nebraska Wesleyan has a batting average of .265, with two home runs, 29 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .412. Pitcher

ERIC IGNATOWSKI PROFILE
Eric Ignatowski was hired as the 11th head coach in program history in November of 2022 and enters his second season as the skipper of Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first season, he directed the Prairie Wolves to a 14-26 record. Prior to taking over at Nebraska Wesleyan, Ignatowski spent 10 years as an assistant coach at Millikan University, where he helped the Big Blue win the CCIW Tournament Championship in 2021. Ignatowski also coached 25 athletes who were awarded All-Conference honors.
STARTING STRONG
Jason English had a strong start to the season against Westminster, recording four hits and posting a batting average of .333. English also had five RBIs and carried a slugging percentage of .417.
NEBRASKA WESLEYAN BASEBALL TRADITION
Nebraska Wesleyan has won 23 conference championships with the most recent occurring in 2009. NWU's last tournament appearance occured in 1982. Since joining the American Rivers Conference, the Prairie Wolves best finish is third in 2022.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Grinnell will play its first series of the season this weekend. Last season, Grinnell posted an 18-21 record. Grinnell is coached by Tim Hollibaugh, who is in his 29th season as head coach
