Track & Field Earns Eight Titles at Concordia Classic

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Nebraska Wesleyan track and field earned eight event titles on Saturday's Concordia Classic, hosted by Concordia University.
  • In 25.02, Isabella Hogue won the 200 meters and broke the meet record. Bre Geary, who earned a personal-best 25.64, came in second.
  • Eli Mackowski claimed the high jump win with a height of 6-7.5 (2.02m)
  • Eric Lenz won the men's weight throw competition with a throw distance of 58-4.75 (17.80 meters).
  • In the men's shot put, Eric Lenz finished first with an effort of 51-11 (15.82 meters). Colin Wojtkiewicz finished in third place with a 50-4 (15.34m) mark. Emmilly Berglund finished third in the women's division with a throw of 43-3.75 (13.20 meters).
  • In the 600 meters, Carter Siems ran a PR 1:23.85, taking first place. Men's 800-meter leader Javier Kenney finished first with a time of 1:58.29. Delaney Vacek raced 2:22.33 to win the women's 800m.
  • Tanner Johnson claimed five event titles and would go on to win the men's heptathlon. Johnson scored 4514 points which is just nine points off the school record.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES UP NEXT
Next weekend, the entire squad will compete in either the Beile Invitational or the Husker Invitational.
