Lincoln, Nebraska (January 14, 2023) - Over the course of three days, the Nebraska Wesleyan Track and Field team sent athletes to three different meets. 

• Most of the team remained in Lincoln and competed at the Prairie Wolf Invite.
• A select number of athletes went to Des Moines, Iowa, to compete at the Drake Relays
• Norbert Weijenberg was the lone athlete to compete at the Kip Janvrin Open.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Norbert Weijenberg competed in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and ran the fifth fastest time in school history to earn an eighth place finish.

Drake Relays
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The men's 4x110 meter shuttle hurdle relay consisting of Trystin Myers, Tanner Johnson, Noah Smith, and Marshall Chasek finished fifth overall and ran the fourth fastest time in school history.
• The men's sprint medley consisting of Kyle Dickinson, Morgan Conner, Gabe Anderson, and Garrett Lenners finished second overall and ran the second fastest time in school history.
• The men's 4x800 meter relay consisting of Gabe Anderson, Javier Kenney, Mason Coulter, and Garrett Lenners finished third overall and ran the sixth fastest time in school history.
• Avery Decker finished fifth in the women's Javelin throw.
• Ellie Akough finished 12th in the women's hammer throw.

Prairie Wolf Invite
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hosting their first outdoor meet of the season, Nebraska Wesleyan earned many podium finishes at the Prairie Wolf Invite.
• On the men's side, Morgan Conner (200) and Dallen Booker (TJ) finished first.
• Grant Reid (Steeple Chase), Sam Homan (Javelin), and Eric Lenz (SP), and the men's 4x400 meter relay all earned second place finishes. 
• On the women's side there were no event winners but multiple athletes earned third place finishes. Those athletes are Isabella Hilger (400), Abigail Cawley (5,000), and Trisha Hayes (LJ).
