Box Score HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Nebraska Wesleyan baseball team's third game this week in California ended in an 18-9 loss against Chapman University.
• Kaleb Knox got things started with a bang in the top of the third inning blasting a home run that gave the Prairie Wolves an early 2-0 lead.
• Veteran pitcher, senior Noah Unger, made his third start of the year, but the Panthers' offense proved hard to contain as they scored eight runs in the first four innings to grab the lead 8-5.
• The Prairie Wolves cut into the deficit in the top of the fifth inning thanks to a bases-loaded walk that brought in Kaleb Knox, but the Panthers poured it on in the bottom half of the inning. Five runs were scored, giving Chapman a 13-6 advantage.
• With the exception of junior Austen King, who pitched for one and a third innings and helped temporarily quiet Chapman, all Nebraska Wesleyan pitchers allowed at least one run. 
• Even after King's solid stretch, the Panthers wouldn't stay quiet for long. Five more runs crossed home in the seventh and eighth innings combined.
• Junior Jason English contributed two hits and two RBIs in the defeat, and graduate student Kaleb Knox contributed three RBIs. English, Knox, and sophomore Tyler Merkel all hit home runs during the game.
