Hogue Wins 200-Meter Dash National Championship, Seven Prairie Wolves Earn All-American Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (March 12, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan track and field team wrapped the 2022 indoor season at the NCAA Division III Championships in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. NWU's Isabella Hogue won the NCAA Division III national championship in the women's 200-meter dash.

Hogue capped off a dominant season for the Prairie Wolves by winning the program's first individual national title since 2019. Hogue won the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 24.66. The winning time also lowered Hogue's program record in the event. For Hogue, it is her first career national championship.

Maddie Moran was the first Prairie Wolf to secure All-American honors in 2022. Moran placed fourth in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.66. Garrett Lenners joined Moran as an All-American. Lenners placed fifth in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.13.

Also earning All-American accolades was the women's 4x400-meter relay team of Isabella Hilger, Alexa Koza, Isabella Hogue, and Reagan Janzen. The team finished sixth in the race with a time of 3:53.01.

It was the first national championship appearance for all three student-athletes. Both Mackowski and Lenz are first-year student-athletes.

In the preliminary rounds on Friday, Moran ran a 7.67 in the women's 60-meter dash to win her heat and advance to the finals. Hogue clocked a 25.01 in the women's 200-meter dash to make the finals. Lenners turned in a time of 1:52.13 in the men's 800-meter run, which is the second-fastest time in NWU history after conversion into a banked track time. The women's 4x400-meter relay team qualified for the finals with the second-fastest time in the prelims at 3:50.64.

Kyle Dickinson narrowly missed making the finals in men's 400-meter dash with a time of 49.21. Reagan Janzen also barely missed the cut for the women's 800-meter run finals after running a 2:14.21 in the prelims.
