Women’s Track and Field 4th, Men’s Track and Field 5th at A-R-C Championships


DUBUQUE, Iowa (February 26, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the 2022 American Rivers Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Dubuque, Iowa on Saturday. As a team, the NWU women's team placed fourth with 75 points and the men placed fifth with 58 points.

Maddie Moran continued her strong performance in the women's 60-meter dash. In the prelims, Moran ran a 7.72, which set a new facility record. Moran then turned in a time of 7.67 in the finals to not only win the event but also lower the facility record again and set a new A-R-C record.

Reagan Janzen also continues to build on her strong season. Janzen won the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:15 and successfully defended her conference title in the event from a season ago. Janzen then anchored NWU's champion, 4x800-meter relay team. The team of Gabby Thomas, McKenna Marsh, Camryn Larsen, and Janzen clocked a time of 9:30.11 to repeat as conference champions in the race. 

In the women's 400-meter dash, Isabella Hogue and Isabella Hilger both finished on the All-Conference podium for the Prairie Wolves. Hogue finished second in the race with a time of 56.94 and Hilger was third with a performance of 57.81.

Additionally, Nebraska Wesleyan's 4x400-meter relay team earned All-Conference recognition. The team of Bre Geary, Alexa Koza, Hilger, and Hogue ran a time of 3:56.40 to earn a bronze medal in the race. The Women's Distance Medley relay team continued the run of NWU relay teams earning All-Conference awards. The DMR team of Marsh, Larsen, Koza, and Thomas placed third with a time of 12:29.28.

On the men's team, Kyle Dickinson also added another All-A-R-C honor to his career total. Dickinson finished third in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 49.29. Garret Lenner joined Dickinson with All-Conference accolades on the men's team. Lenners was third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.04.

The men's field events saw a pair of throwers land on the podium. Eric Lenz had a toss of 15.19 meters, which placed him in third in the event. Andrew Davis also took third in the weight throw. Davis registered a mark of 17.21 meters to earn All-A-R-C honors.
