INDIANOLA, Iowa – In their final competition before the American Rivers Conference Championships, the Nebraska Wesleyan women's golf team placed 7
th at the Simpson Golf Invitational that was held on Wednesday (Sept. 30) at Indianola Country Club in Indianola, Iowa.
NWU had a team score of 401 to finish 7
th among the ten teams that were competing. Iowa Lakes Community College won the team title with a score of 353, followed by Waldorf at 362.
Peyton Savington had their second straight top five finish to lead the Prairie Wolves. Savington was in a four-way tie for 5
th place with a score of 86 after taking 4
th place over the weekend at the BVU Invite. Savington was the only NWU player to break 100 on the day.
The individual medalist for the tournament was Molly Carey of Graceland who shot a +8 score of 79.
Hayley Reiks was the second highest NWU golfer posting a score of 100 to tie for 27
th.
Emily Burk was two strokes behind with a score of 102 to tie for 33
rd. Rounding out the NWU scoring was
Emalie Wightman with a 113. The fifth NWU golfer was
Elayna Boose who shot 142.
NWU now prepares for the 2020 A-R-C Championships which are scheduled for Oct. 10-12.
