SEWARD, Neb. -- The Nebraska Wesleyan women's and men's track & field teams continued to put up top marks early in the indoor season as the Prairie Wolves competed at the Concordia Classic on Saturday (Jan. 31) in Seward, Neb.

Several NWU athletes posted personal best performances and moved up the Nebraska Wesleyan Top 10 charts while solidifying their spot on the GPAC performance list.

On the women's side, Katie Krick and Abbie Hunke continued their solid seasons in the sprints.  Krick was 2nd in the 200 with a time of 26.10 for the 3rd fastest time in the conference and moved up to 8th on the NWU charts.  Hunke was 2nd in the 400 in a PR time of 58.64, good for 3rd on the NWU all-time charts while ranking 4th in the GPAC.

NWU women had a very solid day in the shot put event facing top level competition.  Samantha Dolezal placed 4th in the event with a mark of 45.5.25 to rank 5th in the GPAC.  It was her new personal best toss to remain 4th on the NWU charts.  Brittany Edson had a toss 42-4.75, with Zoey Rada throwing 41-8.75.  Rada's mark puts her name on the NWU charts in 9th all-time in the shot put.

Not to be outdone, the Nebraska Wesleyan men also put up some top marks on Saturday.  In the 200 meters, Garrett Teel was 3rd and teammate Jordan Flemington 4th in the event.  Teel ran a time of 22.88 to rank 5th in the GPAC, while Flemington's 22.93 is 9th in the conference.  Flemington was 7th in the 400 with a time of 51.2.

Last week's GPAC Runner of the Week Tanner Dewey ran the 800 on Saturday and placed 2nd in the event.  His time of 1:58.09 is the 5th fastest time in the GPAC this season.  Tyler Janssen was 3rd in the 600 meters in a time of 1:24.23.

Dewey and Janssen joined Teel and Zach Holka on the 4x400 relay team that won the event in a time of 3:20.95.  The relay time is the fastest in the GPAC this season and ranks 6th in NCAA Division III.   The Prairie Wolves also won the Distance Medlay relay with Cory Plugge, Bryan Butler, Curtis Dloughy and Tanner Brown joining forces to win the event.
