LINCOLN, Neb. -- Three Nebraska Wesleyan athletes were individual champions with several others posting top marks at the 2015 Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational held Friday night (Jan. 23) at the Devaney Center Track.
Tanner Dewey was the champion in the 600 meters for one of the top performances for the Prairie Wolves. Dewey ran a career-best time of 1:20.69 for the best time in the GPAC this season and the third best time in NWU history.Â
The other NWU male individual champion was
Garrett Sellhorst in the triple jump. Sellhorst had a mark of 45-10.75 to win the event by over one foot.
Other top times for the NWU men included GPAC Athlete of the Week
Garrett Teel in the 400 meters. Teel placed 2nd in the 400 with a time of 49.19, finishing just behind a Wichita State runner. His time is the best in the GPAC this season.Â
Tanner Brown had a third place finish in the men's Mile. Brown ran a time of 4:22.44, also the best time in the GPAC so far in 2015.
For the Nebraska Wesleyan women, GPAC Athlete of the Week Katie Krick led the way. Krick was the champion in the 400 meters with a time of 58.12. She also placed 2nd in the 200 meters with a time of 25.94 finishing behind a UNL runner. Her time is the second best in the GPAC on the year.Â
Two other NWU women finished in the top three in their individual events. Abbie Hunke was second in the 600 meters with a time of 1:38.48.Â
Gabi Jenkins closed out the night with a third place finish in the 3000 meters in a time of 10:20.13.
