Box Score INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team remained perfect to start the 2014 season as they went on the road and shutout Simpson College, 2-0, on Wednesday evening (Sept. 3) in Indianola, Iowa.
NWU improves to 2-0 to begin the year and has not allowed a goal in either of their first two matches.
Madi Francis posted her second straight shutout in goal for the Prairie Wolves. Francis had seven saves in goal.
Neither team was able to get on the board in the first 45 minutes of action as the score was tied 0-0 at halftime.
Just over two minutes into the second period
Katelin Blosser got the Prairie Wolves on the board. Blosser scored a goal from 10 yards out on the right wing for her first goal of the season.
Senior
Makensie Thaller gave the Prairie Wolves a two goal advantage later in the half as she scored on a breakaway for her first goal of the year. Thaller's goal came on an assist by
Lyndsey Harpenau.
From there, the NWU defense remained strong and kept the Storm at bay for their second shutout.
Nebraska Wesleyan will continue their long road trip by heading to Elsah, Illinois to face Principia on Friday night.
