Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Buena Vista took three games from Nebraska Wesleyan over the weekend in a nonconference baseball series Saturday and Sunday (Mar. 15-16) at NWU Field in Lincoln.

The Beavers won 5-2 in 9 innings in game one Saturday then took the second game 9-6.  On Sunday, BVU shut out the Prairie Wolves 6-0.

In the opening game, the score was tied 2-2 after seven innings to force extra play.  NWU had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the 7th as they loaded the bases, but were unable to bring in the winning run.  Each team scored a run in the 8th inning as Derek Kay hit a sacrifice fly for the Prairie Wolves.  Bryce Wessels hit a 3-run double to give the Beavers the victory in the top of the 9th.

Buena Vista scored four runs in the top of the 1st inning in the second game to jump ahead early.  NWU responded with 6 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to regain a 6-5 lead.  BVU came right back to plate three runs in the 4th inning and never trailed again.

On Sunday, NWU was limited to only three hits as they dropped their eighth consecutive game in a 6-0 loss.  The Prairie Wolves stranded 15 runners on base as they drew 12 walks, but could not get any runs across.
