Box Score For the second match in a row and the fifth time this season, the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team ended a match in a 0-0 double overtime tie as the Prairie Wolves and Midland University played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 30) in Fremont, Neb.
The Prairie Wolves have now tied six matches on the season, with five of those ties being 0-0 draws. The five 0-0 ties equals the NCAA Division III record for number of matches ending 0-0. ithaca also had five 0-0 matches in the 1989 season.
NWU is 8-3-6 overall and 4-2-3 in GPAC play to sit in fifth in the league standings. The Prairie Wolves have one conference match remaining on the year as they play at Dordt College on Saturday.
Nebraska Wesleyan had 15 total shots in the match that was played in wet, cold conditions in Fremont. Eight of the Prairie Wolves shots were on goal, but none of them could find the open net.
On the other side, Midland had 20 total shots with 11 on goal. NWU goalkeeper
Madi Francis recorded another shutout as she had 11 saves against the Warriors.
With their sixth tie of the season, the Prairie Wolves have doubled the previous high total of ties in a single season in school history.
