Nebraska Wesleyan enters Friday looking to put the finishing touches on an impressive regular season, which has seen 18 top 50 marks, highlighted by
Eli Etherton and
Emmilly Berglund who rank seventh in the men's 60 hurdles and women's shot put. NWU has eight event squads ranked in the top 25, headlined by the women's weight throw (first) and men's 60 hurdles (third). Nebraska Wesleyan has set 25 program top 10 marks this season, with
Noah Thomas setting a new freshman record in the men's 5K at the SDSU Classic last weekend.
RECORD SETTING DAY
Coming off a strong freshman cross country campaign,
Noah Thomas was primed for a big first collegiate track season. After a second place, 15:18.55, 5K finish at the Coach Alsup Invite, Thomas followed up with two strong 3K times at the Prairie Wolf Indoor Invite, and Frank Sevigne Husker Invite, before crushing his personal best and the NWU freshman record with a 14th place, 15:11.63 time at the SDSU Classic.

DIRECTOR OF TRACK & FIELD AND CROSS COUNTRY DERRICK MCKENZIE PROFILE
Derrick McKenzie is in his third season as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at Nebraska Wesleyan. In his first two seasons, Nebraska Wesleyan has 26 NCAA qualifying performances, 12 NCAA All-Americans, one individual national championship and two national runner ups. The Prairie Wolves have won nine individual conference championships and broke numerous school records. Prior to being named Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, McKenzie served as an assistant coach at NWU, where he coached sprints and relays.
